Update on AMU Connections Program
AMU Connections brings together in conference representatives from the three Marianist universities who hold common responsibilities on their respective campuses. The purpose is three-fold:
— Dialogue and share best practices in their respective professional fields.
— Consider how Marianist educational values can be integrated, or more fully integrated into their individual leadership practices and programmatic responsibilities.
— Discover and diagram steps in future collaborative efforts.
During the 2016-2017 academic year, the Association of Marianist Universities sponsored conferences among the Service Learning Directors, AMU Newsletter co-editors, and the Mission & Identity committees from the two law schools. For academic year 2017-2018, representatives from Chaminade University and St. Mary’s University joined colleagues at the University of Dayton in September for a conference on diversity, equity, and inclusion. Members of the Environmental Sustainability Working Group met in San Antonio and will have a follow-up meeting at Chaminade University during the spring semester.
Coming later in the 2017-2018 academic year, representatives of the university libraries will meet to discuss possible ways to collaborate to expand library resources across Marianist higher education. In February 2018, the board of directors of the Association of Marianist Universities will consider and select working groups to meet during the 2018-2019 academic year.
