Susan Ferguson, MEA, at the Center for Catholic Education at the University of Dayton writes “Unfortunately, I know very little about the painting. When we acquired the painting upon moving from Chaminade Hall to Fitz Hall I asked Brother John Habjan to look at it and see if he was able to find anything about it but his research did not provide any definitive answers.  I believe years ago after it was found in the attic in Chaminade, Brother Joe Barrish may have repaired it as it suffered some damage having been in the attic for a number of years.  I remember some speculation that it may have been part of the Brothers “play” reenacting the history of the Marianists.  I would love to know more!!” If anyone knows more about this painting, please let Susan Ferguson or Jack O’Gorman know.
